Cinnamon Apple Raisin Oatmeal

This recipe is so sweet and delicious that you will have a hard time making your taste buds believe it is breakfast and not dessert.

1 CUP ROLLED OATS

2 CUPS WATER

1 TEASPOON VANILLA EXTRACT

1 CUP UNSWEETENED APPLESAUCE

1 MEDIUM APPLE, CORED AND CHOPPED

1 TABLESPOON PURE MAPLE SYRUP

1 TEASPOON GROUND CINNAMON

ΒΌ CUP RAISINS

1. Place the rolled oats in a blender or food processor and pulse until the oats are finely ground.

2. In a small saucepan, combine the water and vanilla extract over medium-high heat and then whisk in the ground oats.

3. Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat and simmer it for about 3 minutes.

Stir in the applesauce, apple pieces, maple syrup, and cinnamon.

Simmer the mixture for about 1 minute longer and then remove from heat.

Let sit for 2 to 3 minutes and then serve hot, garnished with the raisins.
