Whole Wheat Waffles

Waffles are a breakfast staple and they are even better when they are homemade. These whole wheat waffles are sure to be a hit with your kids—you may even find yourself making them when your children aren’t home so you don’t have to share.

1 CUP WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR

3 TABLESPOONS CANE SUGAR

1 TEASPOON BAKING POWDER

PINCH OF SALT

1 CUP UNSWEETENED ALMOND MILK

2 TABLESPOONS CANOLA OIL

1. Preheat waffle iron to high.

2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

3. Whisk in the almond milk and canola oil, stirring until just combined.

4. Pour about ¼ cup of batter into the waffle iron and cook until crisp and lightly browned.

5. Repeat with the remaining batter and serve the waffles hot.
