MAKES ABOUT 1 CUP
Pesto is a deliciously fresh spread made from nuts and basil leaves. Spread it on a sandwich or stir it into your favorite pasta.
2 CUPS FRESH BASIL LEAVES, PACKED
½ CUP RAW WALNUT HALVES
1 TEASPOON MINCED GARLIC
½ CUP EXTRA-VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
1 TABLESPOON FRESH LEMON JUICE
2½ TABLESPOONS NUTRITIONAL YEAST
PINCH OF SALT
PINCH OF FRESHLY GROUND BLACK PEPPER
1. In a food processor, combine the basil, walnuts, and garlic. Pulse the mixture to combine, until well ground.
2. With the food processor running, drizzle in the olive oil.
3. Add the remaining ingredients and pulse to blend.
