Hot-and-Salty Mixed Nuts

MAKES ABOUT 2½ CUPS

These mixed nuts are the ideal finger food to serve at your next house party. Not only are they full of protein and healthy fats, but nuts are also a flavorful snack.

3 TABLESPOONS COCONUT OIL

1 TABLESPOON PURE MAPLE SYRUP

½ TEASPOON WASABI PASTE

1 TEASPOON SALT, DIVIDED

¾ CUP RAW CASHEWS

½ CUP WALNUT HALVES

½ CUP RAW ALMONDS

¼ CUP RAW PECAN HALVES

¼ TEASPOON CAYENNE PEPPER

1. Preheat oven to 300°F.

2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

3. In a small saucepan, whisk together the coconut oil, maple syrup, wasabi paste, and ½ teaspoon of the salt over medium-low heat. Cook until smooth and melted, stirring as needed.

4. In a medium bowl, combine the nuts and then pour the coconut-oil mixture over them, tossing well to coat.

5. Spread the nuts on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes until lightly toasted.

6. Allow the nuts to cool.

7. Place them in a bowl and sprinkle with cayenne pepper and the remaining salt. Toss to coat, and serve.
