It’s been raining outside, or maybe it is still coming down … you could hide indoors or you could get out there and get muddy! It’s an easy choice really, isn’t it?
A note on safety: if sliding into water, make sure you have checked the depth first and that children are supervised by an adult!
1. Choose your site – long and sloping with no sharp or dangerous objects protruding from the ground. Get permission from the land owner, and make sure it is not delicate grassland habitat that will be damaged. Put some tough old clothes on and head out there.
2. Run, jump and slide! If you have any heavy-duty plastic sacks, you could slide in or on them to go even faster. If you can slide safely into water, even better!
3. Run back up the hill and repeat until exhausted.
4. Go and dry off with a hot drink. You’ve earned it.
