Other Techniques

Felting: Place item in a pillowcase and close it with a rubber band. Place the pillowcase in washing machine with pair of jeans to add to the agitation. Set the washing machine to the hottest temperature and lowest water level. Add a small amount of soap and begin the wash cycle. Before the cycle ends, stop the machine and check the felting progress. If more is needed, reset the wash cycle and continue. It’s important to check the felting progress often, about every 5 to 10 minutes, to ensure you get the desired size. Measure the dimensions at each check.

Using Markers in Rounds: Place marker at the first stitch of the round and move it up as you work the rounds.

Whipstitch: Also known as overcast stitch. Holding the two pieces to be joined together, insert needle from back to front through one stitch on each piece; repeat until the pieces are joined.

Working into Back of Chain: With the wrong side of the chain facing, insert hook into the bumps on the back of the chain. (The right side of the chain is a series of Vs.)
