Largest
The leatherback sea turtle is the largest living turtle. Surprisingly, they start out small (above), weighing just over an ounce when they hatch. By the time they mature, however, they can weigh between 550 and 1,500 pounds (250–680 kg), and stretch to between 6 and 7.2 feet (1.8–2.2 m) in length. They are considered critically endangered.
