Kris was inducted into the US Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2018. He runs the West Seattle Karate Academy, a frequent destination for practitioners from around the world which also serves the local community. He has earned black belt rankings in three styles, karate, judo, and taekwondo, and often travels to conduct seminars across the United States, Canada, and Europe. His book,

A Nationally Board-Certified Life Coach and prolific author, Kris has lectured at Washington State University and Susquehanna University. He spent about 15 years in the political and public affairs arena, working for campaigns from the local to national level. During this consulting career, he was periodically on staff for elected officials. His work also involved lobbying and corporate affairs. And, he was also a member of The Order of St. Francis (OSF), one of many active Apostolic Christian Orders.
