Bible Truths That Never Change

Here are a few Bible verses that provide rock-solid support during times of change:

The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him,

to the one who seeks him.

Lamentations 3:25

Teach me knowledge and good judgment,

for I trust your commands.

Psalm 119:66

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,

because the LORD has anointed me

to proclaim good news to the poor.

He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,

to proclaim freedom for the captives

and release from darkness for the prisoners,

to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor

and the day of vengeance of our God,

to comfort all who mourn,

and provide for those who grieve in Zion—

to bestow on them a crown of beauty

instead of ashes,

the oil of joy

instead of mourning,

and a garment of praise

instead of a spirit of despair.

They will be called oaks of righteousness,

a planting of the LORD

for the display of his splendor.

Isaiah 61:1–3

Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest. (Mark 6:31)

I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness. (John 12:46)

I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe. (John 14:29)

Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham. Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. (Gal. 3:6–9)

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. (Eph. 1:18–19)

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ. (Eph. 3:14–18)

We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised. (Heb. 6:12)

Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant. . . . Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. (Heb. 7:22, 25)

Be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” (Heb. 13:5–6)
