Maybe
Mr. MacDougall was right—
that sitting in shop
and thinking Stacey and I could change the world
was silly.
I miss Timothy
and wanting to take shop
seems silly and small
compared to his sadness.
Maybe
I should forget
all about what I want,
and do
what other people want me to do.
Probably
when I go back to school tomorrow,
I’ll tell Mr. MacDougall I’ve reformed.
It’s the thing he wants me to do,
but
Maybe
it’s not the right thing.
