EPILOGUE

You’re probably wondering what happens after we win the game, save the world, and become instant celebrities.

I mean, there’s not that much to tell. It’s pretty normal save-the-world kind of stuff.

Of course we party like crazy in the locker room. Quake and Astrid do this weirdly awesome dance where they lift each other up and spin around until they’re both too dizzy to stand. Chuck and Briny put a bunch of K-pop tunes on the sound system while Ajay lip-synchs.

Nitro and I argue over who should accept the trophy until my parents show up and my mom bear-hugs me so hard I can barely breathe while my dad asks me all kinds of questions about the final play.

When the reporters show up, I’m totally okay with them wanting to talk to my dad more than me. Only a crazy thing happens. They completely ignore him and focus their cameras on me and my teammates instead. And even crazier, I don’t give any answers that I regret saying the next day.

Eventually, we return to our practice facility, pack our bags, and head back to our different homes. After becoming such good friends, it’s hard to leave. But we vow to still keep in touch with texts, and social media, and even the occasional phone call.

Nova and I don’t end up getting together. But who knows? Maybe we’ll see each other again at the Olympics or if I go on a worldwide W00t! tour.

Of course, the most important thing is that Earth doesn’t get turned into a fast-food restaurant. In fact, no one’s seen Schnozly Grofsplot since his attempt to overturn the final score failed miserably. I’m glad he’s really gone and we won’t have to worry about his evil schemes to take Earth ever again…
