Marble Plaster

a nice alternative to white plaster - fun to mix

MATERIALS

2 t. (10 ml) white glue

½ cup (125 ml) water

plaster of Paris

tempera paint

mold for plaster casting

bowl, soup bowl

PROCESS

1. mix glue and water in a bowl
2. stir in enough plaster to make frosting-like mixture
3. pour into soup bowl
4. pour thick coat of tempera paint over mixture
5. fold in color to produce streaks
6. pour into any mold (small milk carton, dixie-cups, etc.)
7. then let dry

VARIATIONS

• see sand casting
• use any form made of plastic or rubber as a mold

HINTS

• makes about 1 cup (250 ml) -double or triple recipe if desired
• stronger variation than regular plaster of Paris
