MATERIALS

commercial water based clay

work surface board or table covered with oil cloth

PROCESS

1. squeeze or push clay to form objects
2. work towards pulling parts out from the clay, rather than trying to stick separate parts on
3. allow piece to dry at room temperature

VARIATIONS

• use a modeling tool to carve away piece
• roll coils and build a pot or bowl
• roll clay flat and cut
• cut square tiles and decorate
