- board slide —
- a trick where the skater turns the board sideways and slides the bottom along an object
- grind —
- a trick where the skater scrapes the board’s trucks along an object; trucks are the metal T-shaped parts that attach the wheels to the deck
- kickflip —
- a trick where the skater ollies and kicks the board so that it flips 360 degrees at least once in the air
- manual —
- a trick where the skater balances on the front or back wheels of the board; a nose manual is done on the front wheels
- ollie —
- a jump made by tapping the back of the board on the ground, causing it to pop up and stay near the skater’s feet
- pop shove-it —
- a trick where the skater makes the board go into the air and spin 180 degrees, so that after landing, what was the back of the board becomes the front
- street features —
- things found on a city street (like stairs, ledges, and rails) made specifically in a skate park for doing tricks
