Brown Diner Fried Chicken

- 6 cups peanut oil for frying

- 2 pinches paprika, or to taste

- 2 fryer chicken, cut into serving pieces

Directions
Step 1 Heat peanut oil in a deep, heavy skillet over medium heat or a deep-fryer.
Step 2 Mix flour, onion powder, and paprika together in a shallow bowl. Whisk milk and egg together in another shallow bowl.
Step 3 Dip chicken pieces in flour mixture until evenly coated, shaking off excess. Dip coated chicken in the milk mixture, allowing excess to drip back to bowl; roll again in the flour mixture until coated.
Step 4 4 Employed in batches, place chicken in the hot oil and cover skillet; cook until chicken is browned no longer pink and the guts, about 7 minutes per side. An instant-read thermometer inserted close to the bone should read 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
