Hot BBQ Chicken Drumsticks
Prep time: 10 minutes | Cook time: 20 minutes | Serves 4
2 cups barbecue sauce
Juice of 1 lime
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon hot sauce
Sea salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 pound (454 g) chicken drumsticks
- In a large bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, lime juice, honey, and hot sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside ½ cup of the sauce. Add the drumsticks to the bowl, and toss until evenly coated.
- Insert the Grill Grate and close the hood. Select GRILL, set the temperature to MEDIUM, and set the time to 20 minutes. Select START/STOP to begin preheating.
- When the unit beeps to signify it has preheated, place the drumsticks on the Grill Grate. Close the hood and GRILL for 18 minutes, basting often during cooking.
- Cooking is complete when the internal temperature of the meat reaches at least 165ºF (74ºC) on a food thermometer. If necessary, close the hood and continue grilling for 2 minutes more.
