Spiced Turkey Burger
Prep time: 5 minutes | Cook time: 13 minutes | Serves 4
1 pound (454 g) ground turkey
½ red onion, minced
1 jalapeño pepper, seeded, stemmed, and minced
3 tablespoons bread crumbs
1½ teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
½ teaspoon sea salt
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
4 burger buns, for serving
Lettuce, tomato, and cheese, if desired, for serving
Ketchup and mustard, if desired, for serving
  1. Insert the Grill Grate and close the hood. Select GRILL, set the temperature to HIGH, and set the time to 13 minutes. Select START/STOP to begin preheating.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, use your hands to combine the ground turkey, red onion, jalapeño pepper, bread crumbs, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined; be careful not to overwork the burger mixture.
  3. Dampen your hands with cool water and form the turkey mixture into four patties.
  4. When the unit beeps to signify it has preheated, place the burgers on the Grill Grate. Close the hood and GRILL for 11 minutes.
  5. After 11 minutes, check the burgers for doneness. Cooking is complete when the internal temperature reaches at least 165ºF (74ºC) on a food thermometer. If necessary, close the hood and continue grilling for up to 2 minutes more.
  6. Once the burgers are done cooking, place each patty on a bun. Top with your preferred fixings, such as lettuce, tomato, cheese, ketchup, and/or mustard.
