Asian Steak and Veggies Kebabs
Prep time: 5 minutes | Cook time: 12 minutes | Serves 4
¾ cup soy sauce
5 garlic cloves, minced
3 tablespoons sesame oil
½ cup canola oil
¹⁄₃ cup sugar
¼ teaspoon dried ground ginger
2 (10- to 12-ounce / 284- to 340-g) New York strip steaks, cut in 2-inch cubes
1 cup whole white mushrooms
1 red bell pepper, seeded, and cut into 2-inch cubes
1 red onion, cut into 2-inch wedges
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil, canola oil, sugar, and ginger until well combined. Add the steak and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Insert the Grill Grate and close the hood. Select GRILL, set the temperature to MEDIUM, and set the time to 12 minutes. Select START/STOP to begin preheating.
- While the unit is preheating, assemble the skewers in the following order: steak, mushroom, bell pepper, onion. Ensure the ingredients are pushed almost completely down to the end of the wood skewers.
- When the unit beeps to signify it has preheated, place the skewers on the Grill Grate. Close the hood and GRILL for 8 minutes without flipping.
- After 8 minutes, check the steak for desired doneness, grilling up to 4 minutes more if desired.
- When cooking is complete, serve immediately.
