ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Christopher Allen is a writer and role-playing game designer who has dwelt in many different places during his life, both real and imaginary. He now resides in Wrocław, Poland with his wife and two children. He is the author of the short stories ‘False Dawn’ and ‘Hounds’.

Nick Horth is the author of the novels City of Secrets and Callis and Toll: The Silver Shard, the novellas Heart of Winter and Thieves’ Paradise, and several short stories for Age of Sigmar. Nick works as a background writer for Games Workshop, crafting the worlds of Warhammer Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40,000. He lives in Nottingham, UK.

Matt Keefe is a writer and editor from Sheffield, England, with a long association with the worlds of Warhammer. In the 2000s, Matt was part of the Fanatic team who worked on Games Workshop’s Specialist Games range, and more recently Matt served as the Editor of Games Workshop’s monthly magazine, White Dwarf. His first Black Library novel, Outlander, was published in 2007, and in 2018, Matt returned to the ‘real world’ of freelance writing.

Liane Merciel lives in Philadelphia with her husband, two big unruly mutts and her preschooler, the unruliest of them all. Her work for Age of Sigmar includes Blacktalon and the novella Red Claw and Ruin that featured in the portmanteau novel Covens of Blood.

Noah Van Nguyen is a freelance writer who lives in the U.S. with his wife. His tales set in the Mortal Realms include the novels Godeater’s Son and Yndrasta: The Celestial Spear and the novella Nadir from the Warhammer Underworlds anthology Harrowdeep. He has also written several stories set in the grim darkness of the 41st millennium, including ‘The Last Crucible’, and the Warhammer Crime stories ‘No Third Chance’ and ‘Carrion Call’. When he’s not writing, Noah enjoys studying foreign languages and exploring far-off lands.

Anna Stephens is a UK-based writer of epic, gritty, grimdark fantasy. She is the author of the Godblind trilogy and the Age of Sigmar short stories ‘The Siege of Greenspire’ and ‘River of Death’.

Adrian Tchaikovsky is the author of the acclaimed ten-book Shadows of the Apt series, and many other novels, novellas and short stories including Children of Time (which won the Arthur C. Clarke award in 2016) and its sequel, Children of Ruin (which won the British Science Fiction Award in 2020). He lives in Leeds in the UK and his hobbies include entomology and board and role-playing games. His work for Black Library includes Day of Ascension, the novella On the Shoulders of Giants and several short stories.

Hal Wilson lives and works in Berkshire, and when not reading or writing is usually found working on a new Warhammer project. His work for Black Library includes the short stories ‘Past Returns’, ‘The Wanderer’ and ‘The Nameless’.
