Chapter four:

It Is the Woman Who Chooses the Man Who Will Choose Her

Slovenians would say that the man chooses his woman, but it is the woman who actually decides. Combining this with the worldwide notion that one marries a person who resembles one’s mother or father, I can easily see why the First Lady and her husband are married. In analyzing the Trump relationship, and that this Američan won over this particular Slovenka, one could perhaps reprise the common platitude that men love beautiful women and women love money. One could allege with an even higher level of negativity that she is a real gold-digger who would do whatever he wants and that he only wanted a trophy wife. But a closer examination offers some strange “coincidences” that demonstrate that this relationship is noticeably deeper and that, in general, Mr. and Mrs. Trump share more commonalities than most skeptics are willing to acknowledge. Some examples include the same interests they possess and the intriguing resemblance between Donald and Melania’s father, Viktor; the journalist Ashitha Nagesh even went so far as to call them twins. Most subconscious details are deeper than they appear at first glance. Donald, as well as his father, Fred, married foreigners, in his father’s case, a Scottish girl named Mary Anne Macleod, who came to the USA to pursue the American dream. Both women struggled for more than ten years before becoming American citizens. They were both considered low-earning immigrants at first and both learned English in their youth as their second language.

Searching for glamour is not an uncommon Slovenian trait. Formerly, we had only one type of product that might meet the requirements of every consumer, for example our simple pâté or soup, again to promote equality. Saying that we are all equal but that some are more equal than others enters in here, as President Tito was always giving speeches on how we should be innovative and humble. One of the myths regarding Tito was that he once used an earthworm for a shoelace. On the other hand, he was always surrounded by gold and other luxurious items that the masses could never dream of. Growing up at that time, observing our beloved leader gave one a subconscious lust for all that glitters. This could be one of the reasons why Trump’s apartments look so very “shiny”, to put it mildly. Donald, in this role, reacts the same way since it is a well-known fact that second-generation entrepreneurs, even since ancient times, have an urge to surpass their parents. I can easily see Donald with his pyramids built around the world in this context. Couples stay together as long as they have common goals – and conquering the world could very well be one of them.
