With a five rune cast, you will pick out a single rune at a time and lay them out on your cloth in a certain place.
Your first rune should be placed in the middle, and the other four will create a cross around it. The second rune will be placed on the left side of the center rune, the third rune goes at the top, the fourth at the bottom, and the fifth at the right. You have the choice of laying them out face up, or you can place them face down and then flip them over when you are ready to read them.
The basis of this layout is that the three runes that run horizontally, rune numbers two, one, and five, show you the past, present, and future. The very bottom rune shows what about your situation or problem that you need to accept, and the very top rune represents the things that could help you in relation to the issue.
