Using runes in your ritual can bring added power. Runes are wonderful to use with candle magic. You just inscribe the rune into the candle for more intention and power. Draw the rune by using natural items like flowers, twigs, or rocks in the center of your circle or altar. You will need to pick runes that have meanings for your intention. You need to be picky here. Don’t just pick something randomly. Allow their personality to speak to you and ask them to bring their energy into your ritual. Here are some more ways to add runes to your rituals:
- Draw runes on your face and body using ritual paint before you begin your ritual and during the ritual to bring the runes’ forces.
- Draw runes in the earth in the center of your circle if you are doing a ritual outside.
- Paint or carve runes onto your athames, staffs, staves, wands, etc.
- Draw power and protective runes in the air as you cast your circle before and after your rituals.
- Paint bind runes, place them in a frame, and hang them above your sacred place or altar.
- If you are able to go into a trance, do so. While in the trance craft bind runes for your personal empowerment, to increase your intuition, and to help you communicate with ancestors.
