Chapter 24

HUTCH BLINKED HER EYES a few times and looked around.  The visions had become frequent and more vivid.  She was drawn into the vision which made her uncomfortable.  Thankfully, this time she was at home.  She looked down to find herself in the kitchen with her hands grasping the edge of the counter so hard her knuckles were white.  Sighing, she went to push a strand of hair behind her ear to find that her hands were actually trembling.

She closed her eyes once more and took in a deep, calming breath.  She wished the women would show her their killer’s face.

She stepped over to the sink and rinsed her hands under the cool water and brought some to her face.  As she dried her hands and face, she tried to recall the vision.  Thankfully, when the vision hit she was pouring a cup of coffee and not cutting vegetables or worse, driving.  If she didn’t get a grip on these visions soon, there was a chance she could end up getting hurt.  When she had a vision her body became frozen in place, but would that always be the case?  One time she drove to where Rayne was murdered just to talk to her.  Would that happen again?  She may have to tell Mike exactly what was happening to her so that he could stop her from sleep walking.

She walked over to her briefcase and pulled out her notebook.  She recorded every detail of the visions just in case she forgot an important detail.  Taking her time, she wrote down everything she remembered.  She described every detail, even going as far as any sounds or smells she recalled.

She sipped her coffee as she tried to calm herself.  Still feeling uneasy, she walked over to the window.  She peered out into the yard.  The sun started to rise.

Hutch tried to center herself and really concentrate, searching for the source of the dark emotions.  Was the killer nearby or far away?

Breathing shallowly, she pulled images out of the maelstrom in her mind.  The colors of the energy were so dark that she feared the killer was very near, but every time she pictured him, his aura was dark.  If only she could get a clearer image of him.
