I'm eternally grateful to Leonie Duncan for the quick feedback when I ran out of time, thank you! This story was written to celebrate Different Colored Eyes Day which is on July 12th. There are three different types of heterochromia. Complete heterochromia is where each eye has a different color. My dad has that—one blue and one brown eye. Then we have partial heterochromia, and that's when one part of the eye has a different color. And last but not least, at least not in my opinion since I fall in this category, is when the heterochromia manifests itself as a different-colored ring around the irises. I'll post a picture at some point LOL.
