OUR RESPONSE TO SEX SLAVERY
FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST must speak up and act on behalf of those who are oppressed through sex trafficking. Scripture calls us to expose evil and to help those in need. For some, this will mean being directly involved in the rescue of slaves. For others, involvement will take the form of giving to organizations that assist victims of sex slavery. All Christians, however, can pray for the safety and rescue of those who are enslaved.
The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters.
PSALM 24:1-2, NIV
When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.
PROVERBS 21:15
The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn.
ISAIAH 61:1-2, NIV
