SEEKING GOD’S GRACE IN RESPONSE TO SEXUAL SIN
NO SIN IS TOO GREAT for God’s forgiveness, and that includes sexual sins. Anyone who repents of his or her sin and trusts in Christ—his perfect life, his substitutionary death, and his resurrection—receives the forgiveness of sins and eternal life. Once we become children of God, we are no longer slaves to sin, for the Spirit frees us to walk in obedience (even if it is imperfect in this life). We can, by the grace of God, glorify God with our bodies.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. . . .
My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.
1 JOHN 1:9; 2:1-2
Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.
PROVERBS 4:23
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
ROMANS 6:12-14
