DAY

HOW WE SHOULD RESPOND TO ABORTION
GOD’S PEOPLE MUST seek to defend those who cannot defend themselves. This kind of response will involve courageously speaking on behalf of the unborn, reaching out in love to mothers considering abortions, and making known the evil of abortion in our different areas of influence. Our conviction, however, must be marked by humility, for we know that those who disagree with us on this issue are also created in God’s image. In the end, only God can bring about lasting change with regard to this evil, so we should plead with him in prayer.
If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?
PROVERBS 24:10-12
Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
PSALM 82:3-4
Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.
EPHESIANS 5:11
Responding in Prayer
- Ask God to give you faith and courage to speak up and act on behalf of the unborn.
- Pray that God would intervene and bring justice for the unborn. Ask that pro-abortion policies would be defeated and that leaders and politicians in favor of abortion would change their minds on this issue.
- Pray that God would use you and your church to minister to moms who are considering having an abortion.
