ALTHOUGH OUR CULTURE has made some strides in treating people of all ethnicities and backgrounds with justice and mercy, we have a long way to go. Sadly, the same holds true for many churches. We must remember that our neighbor’s value is not based on his or her skin color, economic status, or ethnic background, but rather on the fact that all people are created in God’s image.
We should repent of any sense of superiority we feel toward others. God has commanded us to love our neighbors, regardless of our differences. The love of Christ ought to compel us to spread his gospel to people of all ethnicities and to partner with believers of all ethnicities. A multiethnic church is truly a countercultural witness in our culture.
