Sexual Morality. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord. 1 Corinthians 6:13

THE MARRIAGE OF a man and a woman is the only context in which God has designed the good gift of sex to be enjoyed, and God has set this boundary for our good. Many in our culture want to make their own decisions about what is sexually permissible, but Scripture tells us that our bodies belong to God. We must trust his wisdom and take seriously his warning that those who persist in sexual immorality will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

While it’s easy to point the finger at our culture, we as Christians need to make sure that we are practicing what we preach. In addition to the sins that make the headlines (like homosexuality), sexual immorality shows up in a variety of other ways. If we are unfaithful in our marriages, if we are entertained by sexually explicit material, or if our thoughts are impure, then we too are sinning by going against God’s good design. We must regularly seek God’s help, as well as accountability from other Christians, as we aim to please God with our bodies and model for the world what it means to be devoted to the Lord.
