About the Author
William T. Y’Blood, a pilot in the U.S. Air Force and later in commercial aviation, served as a historian for the Air Force at Bolling Air Force Base. He was an avid student of military history, especially that of World War II and Korea, for over fifty years and published eight books, including three with the Naval Institute Press: Red Sun Setting, Hunter-Killer: U.S. Escort Carriers in the Battle of the Atlantic, and The Little Giants: U.S. Escort Carriers against Japan. He passed away in 2006, just after completing this book. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; two children, Kent and Laura; and two granddaughters, Jenna and Kiera.
