FTER SPENDING A long time pleasing the doe-eyed girl
with supplications,
Krishna, gorgeously garbed, retired to a sylvan bed;
And, no longer sad, Radha eagerly put on her
alluring jewelry.
As evening, the thief of vision, approached,
One of Radha’s friends spoke to her:
HE BOWED DOWN in adoration,
sang your praises, and is waiting
In the balmy bamboo bower
where a bed is made for playful mating;
Krishna’s obliging, dear Radha—so go to him!
Refrain
With bounteous breasts and heavy hips,
anklet jewels jingling, go
Like a flamingo strutting
Long, languorous and slow;
Krishna’s obliging, dear Radha—so go to him!
Listen to songs that drive girls wild,
the honeyed hum of bumblebees,
And relish the feeling as cuckoo choruses
croon Love’s decrees;
Krishna’s obliging, dear Radha—so go to him!
