Song Twenty-four
WHILE KRISHNA, HER heart’s delight and his family’s
pride and joy, amused himself, she said:Refrain
“With your hands, sandal-cool and soothing,
Decorate my breasts with a musk design
as votive vessels for rituals of Love divine.”
While Krishna, her heart’s delight and his family’s
pride and joy, amused himself, she said:
“With mascara, dear, darker than a swarm of bees,
Repaint my eyes, darting with Love’s arrow tips;
Restore the kohl you erased with the kisses of your lips.”
While Krishna, her heart’s delight and his family’s
pride and joy, amused himself, she said:
“Earrings had restrained my roving deer-like eyes;
Replace them now, my handsome one, an ornament
upon each ear,
Set there like snares of Love to bind the bounding deer.”
