Wilfred ‘Tom’ Baker

He was awarded a Military Cross during Second Gaza and was later mentioned in despatches. Davidson, who was born in Scotland, was a farmer from Cowra in New South Wales. He enlisted in August 1914 and returned to Australia in January 1919.

Lance Corporal Reg Dixon served with the 6th Light Horse Regiment in the Palestine campaign. Dixon was a warehouseman from Centennial Park in Sydney, New South Wales. He enlisted in the AIF from the Royal Australian Naval Reserve in April 1917 and returned to Australia in August 1919.

Lieutenant Colonel William Maitland Woods was the senior chaplain to the Anzac Mounted Division and then the Desert Mounted Corps. He was decorated with the Order of the British Empire. William Woods, who was English-born, had been a chaplain to the forces since 1893. He enlisted in August 1915 and returned to Australia in February 1919. His son, Temporary Sergeant Francis Maitland Woods served with the 7th Light Horse Regiment and later with the Camel Transport Corps in the Sinai and Palestine campaigns. Francis Woods was an engineer fitter originally from Thursday Island. He enlisted in September 1914 and was discharged from the AIF in March 1918.
