This time I scream it with more conviction
I say it like a child yells at their mother when hungry, in need, in danger.
This time no words, but comfort comes.
I catch a glance of a small vine, connected to an oak tree, hanging on for dear life.
Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all other things shall be added unto you.
I thought I was doing that, Dad?!
“What do you want from me?” I screamed.
The wind slapped me across the face
Tears began to fall
I can’t do this, Lord.
I’m not strong enough,
I don’t understand what you want.
Then I heard in my spirit, “Peace be still.”
“Lord, what do you need from me?” I whispered back.
“Peace be still.”
“Jesus,” I responded
“Peace be still….”
Silence.
Wind blowing, things falling apart all around.
Feet deep in soil
Tears falling
Weary
Peace be still
