How to pray?
Prayer need not be complicated or fancy. It is simply having a conversation with God. More often, this conversation is like having a conversation with your own self. You can talk to God like you talk to your best friend. Expressing from your heart is all that matters.
You need not mix prayer and ritual. Shun aside all formality, time or place to praying. You can indulge in conversation with God ongoing all day along, about everything. Some mothers like to pray aloud sometimes so that their baby can hear their voice while praying.
A Sample Prayer For the Mother:
I welcome the arrival of this new and sacred life. My heart is filled with gratitude for the wonderful miracle of life growing within me. This baby belongs to the universal consciousness as much as it belongs to us. I am thankful for the privilege of creating this child aligned with your plan. Allow my womb to be a sanctuary of love, compassion, joy and peace for my baby.
I humbly ask for your wisdom and guidance as I look forward to nurturing this precious child entrusted to my care. As I witness the growth and development of my baby, a sense of amazement and wonder grows within me.
Every day, I will find more joy in taking care of myself and peace in knowing that me and my baby are being protected. I refresh my commitment every day to the principles of good nutrition, exercise, taking adequate rest and sleep. Help me to resist the temptations which may bring any unpleasantness to us.
Help me make healthy lifestyle choices so that I become a role model for my child for healthy living.
With faith in you, I free myself from the bondage of fear and worry. Help quench every anguish and anxiety in my heart and fill me up with peace and strength.
I pray that you ease the suffering of my pregnancy. I would not be bogged down by the discomforts, rather look at them to remind myself the blessing I am carrying. With the comfort of your presence, in the warmth of your love, I will mark each passing week with gratitude and wonder.
A Sample Prayer For the Baby:
Dear God, you are working on a marvellous miracle within me. Just as my baby found the perfect moment of conception as per your plan, I pray that the perfect plan for her/his life will reveal itself.
I feel your presence every moment in the intelligence with which my body works to form the baby. Help me give it a strong foundation as I continue to nourish her/his mind, body and spirit. How graciously you are creating another human being in your image!
You have created the body in utmost perfection! I cannot pray for every function and characteristic of the baby’s body because what you have created in the human body is beyond what a human mind can comprehend.
I pray for my little embryo to perfect the functionality, shape, length, and size of each internal and external organ. I pray to allow the best nutrition to be provided to it. I pray for healthfulness and wholeness and freedom from disease or anomaly.
I pray for you to bless my baby’s brain development with your special touch. I pray that she/he develops perfect eyesight, hearing and other senses, to experience your world in its completeness. I pray for you to bless each bone, ligament, muscle and nerve to properly form and grow, and give her/him a sound structure and strength in mobility. May each limb be appropriately expressed; bless the baby’s movements and motor abilities, and give her/him the great joys of walking and running on this planet. May her/his body manifest with good height and strength.
May the blood that flows through her/him nurture her/him like your love. Give my child a tender heart open to hear your voice and is kind and compassionate towards others. May she/he have a heart to love you and serve your plan!
Bless my baby with the wisdom needed to make the right choices on her/his path. I pray that she/he is able to express herself/himself well and learn well, respect others and be polite.

A Sample Prayer For Your family:
Thank you for giving us a home and a family to love. There is no measure of the love and blessings you have poured into our home, no measure of the peace you have surrounded us with. We humbly surrender to your will instead of seeking our own ways. We ask that you be at the centre of our home and be the pillar that holds us firmly.

A Sample Prayer For Safe Delivery:
With the peace and strength of your comforting presence, help me prepare my mind, body and soul for labour and for experiencing the wonder of birth. The day shall soon dawn when I will meet my child and my world will change forever. May I feel your power within me in that moment of trial. May I be easy and allowing with myself. May my body support my intent and my mind. May the umbilical cord be positioned just correctly, and when we cut it we are not separated but united in the fullness of our experience and joy.
I pray for all those who will take care of me in the hospital. May they exercise diligence, compassion and care for us. I pray that your divine wisdom operates through their hands and minds, and allow us the care, safety and security we deserve as your children.
May the universal energy work through me, guiding me intuitively through each contraction. May I bear this child safely, and receive divine strength to do so. May my child be born to good fortune, peace and health at a time appropriate for her/him. Give me the grace to accept whatever is planned as I see my child for the first time.
A Sample Prayer For New Mothers:
Help me to hold my child close to me and love her/him dearly. Help me to be surrounded with the right support to help me tide through, guide and calm me through the first few weeks. As I rejoice in this precious life that has been entrusted to me, encircle me with the confidence to make the right choices. Always keep us safe in your loving protection.
