Every now and again, we hear the clichéd question, ‘Why was I born?’ or ‘What is the meaning or purpose of life?’ In most cases, we have our own agenda on what our purpose in life is. However, from a spiritual perspective, there are two generic reasons why we are born. These reasons define the purpose of our lives at the most basic level. They are: to complete the karmic account we have with various people and to make spiritual progress.

Birth on the Earth plane is rare. For every entry of a subtle body into an embryo, millions of other subtle bodies compete to gain entry to experience worldly life.

But it is only that subtle body that is destined to enter an embryo that will get birth on earth. Throughout the pregnancy, the foetus is affected by the parents’ feeling towards their child. That’s because the foetus can absorb its parents’ emotional energy. This energy helps create how the child will see itself in its life ahead. The question is, what is the right approach as would-be-parents? Is it possible to attract a more advanced and more sāttvik subtle body into the womb?

Paramhansa Yogananda, in his book Karma and Reincarnation says: ‘When good parents unite in physical union, they produce a pure astral light – as the positive and negative currents at the base of their spines and in their sex organs, unite. This light is a signal to good souls with compatible vibrations in the astral world to be physically conceived.’

No matter what the situation, any parent can give their child a strong, healthy start. The physical and emotional health of a foetus is shaped by the parents’ environment and their emotional well-being. That’s why it is vital to feed loving, positive energy to the foetus throughout the pregnancy.

This book is incredibly informative. If you want not just a healthy baby, but a baby with a well-developed and balanced personality, you have GOT to read this book. This book goes into the whys of what is being recommended by many of today’s holistic practitioners with very well written explanations and references.

Although it quickly becomes apparent that the authors are no less than brilliant, I found myself cracking out loud in the midst of reading this material. The information is comprehensive, yet delivered in an easy-to-understand manner. I also liked that this book cuts through a lot of ‘fuzziness’ and tells you the bottom line on a number of issues.

A simple and practical guide to effective parenting covering conscious pregnancy, prenatal care, diet, fitness, emotional health, karma connections, childbirth, postnatal care and much more. It has everything a would-be-parent needs to know! A down-to-earth book about conception and spirituality with a very balanced approach.

A book that guides rather than preaches. This is a book to keep on your bedside table all through your journey from conception to birth. The authors speaks with credibility, yet encourage the reader to find the answers for themselves. A must for those who are seeking to become wonderful parents, more in harmony with their inner spirit and with the world around them, and who look forward to welcoming evolved souls into their life.
