I wrote this novel in 2013, soon after my father passed away. It was inspired by an actual nightmare I had that, to this day, is as vivid as it was all of those years ago.
I began writing, not intending for my words to turn into a novel but as a sort of journal, a way of expunging the nightmare from my head. As years passed by, I'd open the file on my laptop, tweak a few things here, add a few things there, until, one day, a full novel had taken shape.
But, still, I let it sit.
If not for my mom's insistence, I might never have pursued publishing, but she'd been my biggest fan and strongest supporter from the first page to the last. So, after nearly eight years, I've finally decided to take the plunge and share this story with the world.
It is my greatest hope that you enjoyed it. I say with certainty and sincerity that a piece of my heart and soul will forever be entangled in this novel.
