The Four Elements
of the Method
Now that you know more about yourself, where you may have a tendency to go out of balance, and some basic lifestyle practices to get you going—it is time to dive into the heart of the flexitarian method, which is the foundation of a healthy and happy yoga lifestyle.
Part 2 presents you with the four elements of the flexitarian method. We will start with the yoga asana (yoga poses), where you will learn more about your body, about the poses and their groupings, as well as some sample yoga sequences to begin working with.
Then we will move into the pranayama (breath work) chapter, where you will learn a variety of practices to increase the energy in the body, balance your emotions and brain, create heat or cool down, and really support the yoga asanas. These two chapters go hand in hand.
Next we will learn about food and nutrition, which are the foundation for a healthy life and help support a healthy body to do yoga and pranayama, as well as the mind, since what we eat affects our mental state as well.
We will finish the section with the fourth element—mediation and mind training. When the mind is in balance and peace, all other layers of life—including the first three elements of the flexitarian method—flow better and achieve better results.
This is your practical practice chapter, where we start to live the yoga lifestyle. Practice with patience, reduce expectations, and the results will show. Just keep showing up, and be your authentic self.
