Ingredients:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1 cup white sugar or to taste
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon, powdered
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg, powdered
- 2 pinch salt
- 1 cup butter, cut into pieces
- 2 cups walnuts, chopped
- 1/3 cup white sugar, or to taste
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 12 cups apples - peeled, cored and chopped
- 4 tablespoons lemon juice
Method:
- In a bowl add flour, brown sugar, 1 cup white sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder and salt. Mix well.
- Add butter. Mix together with your hands until it forms a crumble.
- Add walnuts and keep aside.
- In another bowl add 1/3-cup sugar, cornstarch, ginger and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
- Place the apples in the instant pot. Add the flour mixture
- Add lemon juice and toss well.
- Sprinkle the walnut and crumb mixture on the top.
- Set on Manual option and set the timer for 2 hours. When done, let the steam release naturally.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice-cream
