ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Steve Jones thanks:

I’m not going to thank everyone who knows me – this ain’t the Oscars – but I would like to say something about Dawn Girocco. She’s the general manager at the radio station, and Jonesy’s Jukebox wouldn’t be on KLOS without her. It’s not just that, though. Dawn goes back right to the beginning of the show on Indie 103.1 and then forward through KROQ. Let’s just say she’s been a staunch advocate who’s made all the difference.

Some other people I’m grateful to for helping make this book happen are Paul Cook for filling in the gaps where my memory ought to be, Chrissie Hynde for doing the foreword, the publishers Jason Arthur and Ben Schafer, the lawyers Peter Paterno and Jeff Silberman, the literary agent Anthony Mattero, the money men Paul Lima and Al Pivo, my manager Anita Camarata and her old man Michael Jewison who helped with the edit, my friends Lori and Richard, Nina Huang, and the photographers who let me use their pictures including Ray Stevenson, Dennis Morris, Boogie and Robert Matheu.

Ben Thompson thanks:

Jason Arthur for putting my name in the hat; Ray Winstone for vouching for me; Simon Petty for onsite LA limousine services; Paul Cook, Steve’s auntie Frances via his cousin Wendy Brown, Chris Thomas and Julien Temple for additional interviews; Matt Thorne, Kelly-Lee Alexander, Wesley Stace, Richard King, Maya Biltoo, Jon Savage and Chrissie Hynde for helpful conversations; Johnny Marr and most of all Nicola Barker for editorial rigour.
