DETOX JUICES

These recipes are great ways to start your morning. They’ll bring a level of alkaline into your body that wakes up the blood and gets you going. They are also great for getting your metabolism started and curbing your appetite. Having them a half hour before a meal is also a tasty way to get your digestion started right!

GRAPEFRUIT DETOX

7 oz. grapefruit juice

7 oz. water

2 oz. apple cider vinegar

1 pinch of cayenne pepper (Optional)

Apple cider vinegar is one of my favorite ingredients. I cannot express how amazing it is. It helps to stimulate cardiovascular circulation and detoxification of the liver. It has been known to aid in weight loss, eliminating acne, and even reducing allergies and fighting yeast infections. Oh, and did I mention it seriously helps daytime fatigue? It’s a natural energy booster—without the caffeine crash.

LEMON LIME DETOX

2 oz. lime juice

2 oz. lemon juice

6 oz. water

2 oz. apple cider vinegar

1 pinch cayenne pepper (Optional)

You will notice for this recipe I wrote out actual ounces of each ingredient. So, you should juice the citrus fruits and then add the other ingredients.

SPICY FRUIT

1 grapefruit (no skin)

2 cucumbers

1 thumb of ginger

Grapefruit is high in pectin, which has been known to help in the prevention of prostate and colon cancer.

MASTER CLEANSE

2 tablespoons coconut palm sugar

4 tablespoons lemon

1 pinch cayenne

12 oz. of filtered water

This recipe is a take on the Master Cleanse. While I disagree with their recommendation of drinking this (and only this) for ten days, I think this is a great way to start your day.

MASTER CLEANSE TEA

4 thin slices of ginger

½ lemon sliced, including peel

1 pinch cayenne

Place ingredients into a mug with 8 ounces of hot water and enjoy. This is a great tea for starting or ending your day. It helps with digestion.
