HI, I'M THE AUTHOR of this book, the 15th of a series of new-adult suspense novels set in a college newsroom in Portland, Oregon. There are more to come. Every time I think it’s time to quit, some character says, what about me? Don’t I get my story told? And yes, yes, they do.
If you liked it, please write a review wherever you bought this book. Or put in a good word for the book on social media sites. E-publishing works because people sing out when they find books they like.
The Eyewitness News team will be back in book 16 — year three with Blair Williams at the helm. There are some intriguing people who are moving into leadership positions as some of the older staff graduate — finally — and leave.
Some books in this series focus on issues from the headlines you read every day, especially the ones about Portland. And Portland is a strange place, full of interesting politics and eccentric people. I will never run out of stories.
But some of the books are more about the challenges students struggle with. College is a challenge — it’s a time when you discover who you are as a person, fall in love — and probably out — more than once, decide on a career, also probably more than once. And many students come to college already wounded by the things life has thrown at them.
This book is one of the later. It’s about the wounded ones who manage to make a life for themselves — a good one — sometimes against all odds.
As always, this series honors student journalists: for their idealism, their passion, and their commitment to the practice of good journalism.
Because we need good journalists like never before.
