Holiness
Our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. . . . By that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy.
It is not possible to be holy on your own because you were born with a bent toward sin. But when you allow the Holy Spirit to control your mind and actions, you take the first important step toward becoming holy. Holiness here on earth does not equal being perfect; it means relying on the Holy Spirit to change you more and more into the likeness of Jesus. Yet God promises that one day you will at last be made perfect in heaven.
