Persecution
[Jesus said,] “God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.”
If you are ever persecuted for your faith, be encouraged by the fact that many other faithful believers have stood or are standing strong in the face of persecution. The Bible says that suffering for Jesus’ sake is an honor. It is evidence of the depth of your love and commitment to him. Persecution also helps you know the heart of Jesus more deeply as you empathize with his sufferings and remember what he went through so you can live with him forever.
