It has been almost a year and a half since I wrote the journal that became Coming Clean, and Titus is still a thin child. That being said, after the last entry, the doctors prescribed medication for his esophageal issue, which seems to be working. He has taken to growing, slowly but surely. As of this update, Titus is still not on the growth chart, but he is well-developed cognitively and has more energy than a wild stallion. He is a delight.
I suppose Titus could grow into a behemoth of a man. After all, Amber’s side of the family is long in the leg, and Titus’s genes could kick in at some point. But part of living, I suppose, is releasing expectations for your children. I don’t expect Titus to be anything other than what Titus will be. And if you could meet him, if you could play tag with him in the back yard or draw with him at the dining room table, you’d know that if there is any word to describe him, it’s this: miraculous.
