FURTHER NOTES FOR THE READER
Ingredient Notes
- All eggs used in this book are free range.
- All meats used here are free range with no added hormones.
- Always wash all fruit and vegetables thoroughly under cold running water before preparing.
Method Notes
- If the recipe calls for melted coconut oil, melt it over a low heat on the stove. Do not melt coconut oil in the microwave.
- If your biscuit dough becomes too dry and crumbly, spray sparingly with water to improve the consistency. If it becomes too sticky, a tablespoon of coconut flour should help (this is more drying than other alternative flours).
- Practice makes perfect. The ingredients used to make dog treats can be harder to manipulate than standard treats made of butter and sugar. Just remember, all your dog cares about is the fantastic taste!
- Never refreeze thawed treats. It can change the texture and consistency of treats, which can make them messy, crumbly, and separated.
