- a device that measures the distance to an object by bouncing laser light off the object and timing how long it takes the light to return; lidar stands for light detection and ranging

- a person who studies and predicts the weather

- the path an object follows while circling another object in space

- a device that uses radio waves to track the location of objects

- a set of rotating blades that lifts an aircraft off the ground

- a device that uses sound waves to find objects; sonar stands for sound navigation and ranging
