Here is a common misconception about silk; people often think that the material can tear easily. But the reality is far different. In fact, it is a well-known fabric because of its tensile strength, which allows it to withstand strong pulls. Another feature of silk that makes it preferred my many embroiderers is the fact that it is also slightly elastic. This makes silk easy to work with and provides ease-of-use when sewing. Furthermore, silk does not wrinkle easily, retaining its original shape as much as possible.
