Zippy Burgers

Enhance lean ground beef with onion powder, chili powder and red pepper flakes. These satisfying burgers are sure to sizzle at any barbecue.

1/4 cup beer or beef broth

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

2 teaspoons chili powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)

4 hamburger buns, split

1. In a large bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into four patties.

2. Using long-handled tongs, moisten a paper towel with cooking oil and lightly coat the grill rack. Grill hamburgers, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from the heat for 6-8 minutes on each side or until a thermometer reads 160° and juices run clear. Serve on buns.
