Three-Grain Bread

My grandchildren really like this hearty loaf’s crunchy crust and chewy texture. I like how nutritious it is because it contains more fiber than many other loaves.

PREP: 10 MIN. BAKE: 3 HOURS MAKES: 1 LOAF (2 POUNDS, 20 SLICES)

1/2 cups water (70° to 80°)

1/2 cup honey

1/2 teaspoons salt

2 cups bread flour

1 cup whole wheat flour

3/4 cup rye flour

3/4 cup cornmeal

1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

1. In bread machine pan, place all ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. Select basic bread setting. Choose crust color and loaf size if available.

2. Bake according to bread machine directions (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water or flour if needed).
